Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti was interviewed by Sky Sport before the match against Napoli. The subject was a discussion of the future: specifically around the extnesion of Fabio Quagliarella and coach Claudio Ranieri.
"President Ferrero is personally negotiating both with Mister and with Quagliarella. He has already released a significant statement, saying that as long as he is at Sampdoria, Quagliarella will be at Sampdoria. Fabio is the symbol of this Sampdoria, you can count on it, he will stay with us."
"Ranieri? I hope that he stays, he came in a very difficult moment and has done very well. Obviously at the start of the season we wouldn't imagine this result with nine matches left. I hope he stays but Ferrero and Ranieri are two prima donnas and sometimes there is a bit of flightiness."
"A lot has changed in the year of Covid. Before planning a season we must evaluate many things, the players, the coaches, and the sporting directors coming out of contract are numerous. We will have time to discuss it but the focus is on today's match and the next eight."
