After the announcement yesterday that Gianluigi Donnarumma would not be extending his contract at Milan, the club is looking today to its future: Genoa's Mattia Perin is a choice of both Montella and Mirabelli. There have been contacts between Milan and the player's agent as well as Genoa. A deal, were it to get done, would be based on appearances, while there is some difference in agreement in the fixed part of the player's transfer fee, Milan wants to offer €7-8m, but Genoa is seeking more. A major hurdle could be the health of Perin. The goalkeeper, who is in the United States, could be asked to perform medical evaluations even before returning to Italy so that Milan could evaluate his condition. Neto, from Juventus, is another possibility, but not at the asking price of €10m wanted by Juve.
