His Porto club shared the following message on Twitter: "Casillas is now doing well, the cardiac problem has been resolved. Always together. Go Iker." The Spanish keeper also shared an update on his situation, confirming that he is out of serious danger: "All under control here, a great scare to me, but strength is intact. Thanks to everyone for the messages and love."
Juan Antonio Corbalan, former Real Madrid basketball player and cardiologist, spoke on what Casillas can expect moving forward.
"You cannot play football with a coronary stent, especially goalkeeper. Iker will return to living a normal life, but he can no longer be a professional athlete."
On one hand, Casillas and his family have received good news on his condition. However, on the other hand, his legendary career could be at risk if what Corbalan says proves to be true.
