Chelsea have reached a full agreement with Phoenix All Stars to sign wonderkid Dujuan 'Whisper' Richards.
Richards, 17, has caught the attention of many European clubs - and last month, the centre-forward underwent a two-week trial with Newcastle United’s under-21s.
Following an impressive stint with the Magpies, it’s believed the Jamaican was on the verge of signing for them, but Chelsea officials have travelled to Jamaica to hijack the deal.
The youngster will link up with the Blues after he turns 18 in November.
Richards has been in the spotlight in his homeland, where last season he scored 31 times and registered 19 assists for the Phoenix All Stars Academy.
The 17-year-old has also earned his first senior call-up for Jamaica this week, and could make his debut in their upcoming friendly against Trinidad on Saturday.
