After parting ways with Sarri and appointing Ancelotti as their new caoch, Napoli are working to bolster the squad for next season.
The partenopei are especially looking for reinforcements in the midfield, as they not only made initial contact with Zenit for Paredes but they also made an enquiry with Betis for midfielder Fabian Ruiz. The Spaniard, born in 1996, has drawn interest also from other Italian teams such as Roma and, in January, Inter. Ruiz, who signed a new deal with Betis until 2023 just a few months ago, has also a €30 million buy-out clause in his contract.
The young midfielder has suitors also in his home country, with Atletico Madrid very keen to make an attempt to bring him in the Spanish capital. Ruiz is in fact considered one of the best midifleder in Spain and in September he will become part of the national team. That's why his family would rather see him stay and improve in La Liga.
As mentioned before, Napoli are not the only Italian club interested in Ruiz, as Roma have also set their eyes on him. However, the Giallorossi would need to sell someone before making an attempt to sign the Spaniard and taking advantage of the good relationship between sporting director Monchi and his agent Alvaro Torres from the You First Sports agency.
Napoli remain an option, but right now the partenopei are behind Atletico and Roma in the race for Fabian Ruiz.
