Esteghlal are making a new attempt to bring Andrea Stramaccioni back at the club. After parting ways in 2019 - just six months after being appointed - due to the differences that emerged with the club's board, Stramaccioni could return to Esteghlal.
Since the Italian coach departure, many things have changed at Esteghlal, starting from the chairman and the board. The new management is eager to bring Stramaccioni back, so much so that club's executives flew to Rome in the past few days to submit a substantial offer to the coach: a one-year-contract with a very significant salary.
Stramaccion took some days to reflect on the club's offer with his family, as he has become a father for the third time and he is also making considerations about the difficulties that travelling abroad would entail due to the current pandemic emergency.
On the flipside, Stramaccioni said a few weeks ago that "in Iran to me there's only Esteghlal". Moreover, the Iranian Federation have introduced a new rule that could benefit some foreign personell that already worked in football in Iran. After the Covid emergency, the value of riyal - the Iranian currency - has decreased, pushing the Iranian Federation to ban the arrival of foreign players or staff members, except for people that have already worked in Iran in the past like Stramaccioni.
