It’s understood Bayern are ready to shift their focus towards a potential deal for Trippier - with Paris Saint-Germain reluctant to offload Nordi Mukiele this January without a replacement secured.
Newcastle are open to selling the 33-year-old as they look to generate additional revenue to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), after they announced a loss of £73.4 million for the year ending June 30, 2023.
The Bavarian giants are prioritising strengthening the right-back position before the window shuts, and a potential move would see Trippier reunite with former Tottenham teammates and England compatriots Harry Kane and Eric Dier, who joined earlier this month.
Trippier is also known for his versatility across the defence where he can comfortably play at left-back and in a back three - a trait that Thomas Tuchel admires highly.
His contract with Newcastle runs until June 2025.
