Manchester United announced today that Dan Ashworth will be leaving his role as sporting director; he was hired just a few months ago after a stint at Newcastle. The news is that among the names monitored as his possible successor there is also that of Andrea Berta, Italian, currently at Atletico Madrid.
At the end of the season, Berta will leave Madrid after eleven years: he arrived as technical director in 2013, after having worked first at Parma and then at Genoa. With the Colchoneros he contributed to the win of two La Liga titles, a Spanish Super Cup, a Europa League and a UEFA Super Cup.
Now he is one of the profiles that the Red Devils board is evaluating, a possibility that could materialize in the coming months: in Andrea Berta's future there is a possibility called Manchester United.
