After receiving a call-up for his national team, the second one after the debut in 2014, Dennis Praet wants to work even harder to impress Belgium coach Roberto Martinez. Sampdoria's impressive run so far in the Serie A helped the young Belgian to get a chance again on the international stage, the same stage that the Blucerchiati want to reach next season: "We are a quality team with a great defence. We have to believe that we can get a European spot, you must have ambition in football", Praet told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I'm getting more confident. There is still a long way to go and I'm working hard to become a complete player. This club is the perfect place to achieve that - continued the former Anderlecht player - Giampaolo? He is one of the best coaches around, he is the perfect coach for us young players. His football philosophy is perfect for my qualities. But I must admit that it wasn't that easy for me at the beggining. I struggled, but now everything is great".
Finally, Praet discussed his ambitions for the immediate and the far future: "We are in talks for a contract extension with the club (the current contract expires in 2020), that's wwhat both me and the club want. Playing for a top club in the future is a dream of mine, but I'm well here for now".
