The conversations between Roma and Stephan El Shaarawy continue to extend the winger’s contract. The dialogue was opened a few weeks ago with the goal of reaching an agreement on a new deal since his current contract expires in 2020.
Both parties want to to continue their journey together, but this is a significant contract for the former Padova and Milan winger since he’s now in the prime of his career at the age of 27. Roma want him to be part of their future but this could be a long negotiation like the one for Florenzi’s extension last year.
The negotiation was started by sporting director Frederic Massara who is however expected to be replaced shortly by Torino’s Gianluca Petrachi who will resign from his current role on Monday before starting the next chapter of his career at Roma along with two of his top assistants.
