New York Cosmos amongst the suitors for Cassano: the latest

After signing Amauri could the New York Cosmos sign another former Serie A striker? The American club is amongst the suitors for Antonio Cassano who recently rescinded his contract with Sampdoria. The former Real Madrid, Roma, Milan and Inter striker turned down the opportunity to sign with Palermo, Crotone and Pescara while the window of opportunity to sign with an Italian club is closing since the deadline to matriculate is February 28th, Virtus Entella in Serie B has also expressed interest. While the Cosmos could sign him past the end of this month, it appears that Cassano intends to wait until June in hopes of signing with a Serie A team for next season. In meantime Cassano has asked Sampdoria if he can continue practicing at the Bogliasco training facility.
