Napoli, Hamsik: "We believed in the Scudetto until the end, we tried all year and deserved something more"

Bitterness and pride. This is a synthesis of the thought of Napoli captain Marek Hamsik, as he spoke on Sky Soccer Show after the draw between Napoli and Torino. The tie today virtually gives the Scudetto to Juventus.

"We just have to thank our audience, it made us feel like we had won something. We are very sorry, but we believed in it until the end. It is not over yet, but Juventus misses only a point. We tried all year, we deserved something more."

"What happened after the match against Juventus? Small episodes that make you change the season, like Juventus who wins at the last second and we who remain in 10 men after 5 minutes in Florence: small details that can decide the championship. There is regret, we are sorry. The final image scenes of the end of a cycle? I do not see it that way, but as a big thank you for the whole city to us, that we have made a good run giving it our all. It was a wonderful year even if we did not win anything".

The Napoli captain also expresses himself on the future of Coach Sarri:

"I hope Sarri remains, because he has made us grow. In these years, he has made us always be attached to the first place. We can go on like this, we've been growing for three years. Missing a pinch for the Scudetto, injuries have made us weaker. Milik and Ghoulam have missed us, these are details that change a championship. But this team can play against anyone".

The midfielder then returns to the match in Florence, perhaps the most decisive match in the season:

"The result of Juventus conditioned us heavily, but we had to do something more and try not to concede a goal, defending with our teeth. We tried to win it on a set piece because with 10 we struggle to play".
