Last summer Alvaro Morata did indeed come close to joining Milan. In fact today when the Italian Federation issued a list of the transactions involving agents and intermediaries for 2017, there was an interesting wrinkle: alongside the transaction for Kessie’, Bonucci, Kalinic and Biglia there also was the Spanish striker’s name. Milan had approached the former Juventus striker on May 30th, a few days before the Champions League final in Cardiff and FIGC listed Beppe Bozzo as the intermediary in the negotiation- the famous agent gave an exclusive interview to GianlucaDiMarzio.com to explain what happened: ”What the federation listed is a task, which was regularly deposited, with the goal of bringing forward a negotiation for Milan with Real Madrid that didn’t materialize. The commission is then received only after the conclusion of the transaction. It’s an official step that is done to operate in a legitimate matter. The mandate becomes ineffective the moment the transaction doesn’t materialize. Did it get done? Milan certainly intended too” In the end Morata joined Chelsea but Milan had certainly tried to convince Morata to return to Serie A.
