Chelsea, Zappacosta: "When Conte called me I couldn't believe it. Defeat against Sweden was the most painful of my life"

Chelsea's right wing-back Davide Zappacosta talked about his tranfer in the deadline day of last summer's transfer window: "The first time that Conte called me I was at home - Zappacosta says to Sky Sport - It was 10 PM and it was a great surprise for me. The coach said to me 'David, I want to work with you, I want to take you to Chelsea'. I couldn't believe it". The ex-Torino remembered also his Premier League debut in the last 15 minutes of the home match against Leicester: "It was pretty loud and Conte couldn't speak with Fabregas. So, he gave me a piece of paper with some tactical annotations on it. It worked out fine in the end". Finally, Zappacosta discussed the game against Sweden with the Italy shirt that ratified Azzurri's exclusion from the next World Cup: "It was crazy tense before the game, but also adrenalinic. I had never felt such a desire to reach an important achievement. We all wanted to destroy our opponent, but we know how it went in the end. It was the most painful defeat of my career".
