M'baye Niang has been at Watford from January but will be back at Milan, because as he said to L'Equipe, he won't "remember only good things. I've improved in a club that trusted me. I have been able to play an amount of time I considered right there. From a group perspective, we've also reached the objective even if we could have done better. It has been a pleasure discovering the Premier League, that was one of my dreams. I owe a lot to this club that has made me play in a new league, catch up with another mentality and allowed me to play as much as I aspired to. I have loved discovering that football level but even if Watford has a buy-out clause and would want to use it, I won't stay because of personal matters. It has nothing to do with fans that I want to thank a lot but with the club. It didn't go as I planned it".
He also revealed that "the club wanted to buy me after a few weeks but I took some time to think about it, I've thought about pros and cons and even if that would be a great opportunity, I don't think my future belongs here. I understand the club's disappointment but ask them to understand me, I won't change my mind".
In the end, he spoke about his future's opportunities: "The first thing to do is to get back to Milan and meet the new direction to talk with them and study what are the possibilities. I will then take the right option that matches every party's. I will consider every option, I would gladly stay at Milan if that's good for the club and for my career. I could also search for another satisfying for everyone option. Everything will come in due time".
