Marco Parolo has presented the Derby di Roma to Il Corriere dello Sport: "Every game is important for the team, the club, the coach. You play the derby for the fans though, and have to give everything in this match. If we play like we can, we could win it" has said the midfielder. Roma are not in their best shape at the moment but remains a high-level opponent: "They only need to find a bit of balance, they have strong players and will get out of this negative moment. In the meantime, we're happy to be ahead of them".

Between past and future, here's what Parolo told the interviewer: "When I was a child, my granddad brought me by bike to the Milan training sessions. Maldini, Van Basten and the 1989 Europa champions were my idols. I can't say I won't coach after I retire, I'll get the degree as a guaranty. Everyone says that after you retire, you still have the will to stay on the pitch".

"Two fundamental coaches for me have been Bisoli, who gave me a lot of trust in Serie C, and Conte with the Italian national team, who can create an impressive winning mentality. My best game is the 2016 Euro one against Belgium, where I've shown I could represent Italy even at my advanced age".

As a conclusion, he's analyzed the reasons why Roma have trouble winning: "They show off and get depressed too much, in a short time. The same goes for the players, one week you're great and the next you're bad. This slows down the growth to me, and then everything goes further with the social media. If you're not concentrated on yourself, you can lose your mind".
