The new coach of the Italian national team Roberto Mancini gave his first press conference since taking over the role. Mancini spoke to some of the major storylines that have marked the early part of his tenure, including the return of Mario Balotelli to the Azzurri, as well as the goalkeeping transition away from legendary #1 Gianluigi Buffon. Here were the comments from Mancini to the Italian press: "Balotelli? The goal of the national team is the unite the footballing movement. Mario is an unique player, he's been a big star since he was young. I have faith in him because he's done well in the last two years. However it depends on a lot: whoever is in the national team has to give his best and behave well. What has Mario said to me? "Good morning, mister." We will have time to speak in the next few days, I only saw him for a short while. He is older now, I believe he will become a little more mature. Buffon? I spoke with Gigi, we talked over the phone. He wants to continue playing, everyone who plays will be the best ones so he could be called back. I spoke about it with him, we will see what happens. We must try to work for the future which in two years will be with the young players, but obviously Buffon and De Rossi if they are fit may be called up because we will have difficult matches coming up and I will need to have some experienced players too. Perin to Juve? I believe that wherever he goes he can play because he has the quality to do it, obviously for a keeper playing is everything, but I am sure that he will play his cards well. Hierarchy in goal? No, I don't have a top choice. Having a national team of champions? I am not a wizard, it takes time. It's clear that the players that were here years ago were very strong. The young players we have can become great and will contribute a lot to our cause. There are many young and inexperienced players, many even who have not played in European cups. It's clear that the job will be more difficult than in the past, but I am confident. It takes work and with these players I think they can do a great job."
