Following Inter’s elimination in the Coppa Italia and home loss to Bologna, there has been a lot of speculation on Luciano Spalletti. During an interview with Sky Sport, the nerazzurri’s executive director Beppe Marotta addressed the topic: ”The meeting with Spalletti after the match was a standard one which happens after every game. Parma won’t be decisive for Spalletti, we’re regretful over the period we are going through but Spalletti’s position is solid. We are a strong club and we have fans who have always supported us, we’ll come out of this. The whistles are a demonstration of love, we must understand the frame of mind of those who spend money and want to see their team win”
Marotta was also asked about Mauro Icardi and Nainggolan: “Regarding Icardi I think he’s a good person who always gives his best. He has a big margin for improvement and needs to improve his performances. Nainggolan has struggled to integrate himself and didn’t play as expected. He can and must give more and he’s the first to be aware of this”
