Fondazione Borgonovo, Chantal will meet with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes

Together once again in the name of a friendship started because of Stefano Borgonovo and solidarity. The wife of the former Milan striker and symbol of the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Chantal, will be a guest of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes on Tuesday in Madrid. This will be an opportunity to rekindle a relationship that started two years ago and to discuss future projects for the Stefano Borgonovo foundation, this is what Chantal had to say:"On Tuesday I'll be in Madrid to meet Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent to discuss future projects for the foundation. Jorge invited us to come watch the Champions League match between Real Madrid and Lega Warsaw. I must say that it made me very happy to see Cristiano and Jorge once again, they have always been close to the foundation and they support us. We met each other two years ago during a dinner attended by Carlo Ancelotti, who is a big supporter of the foundation and a friend. The friendship with Carlo was very important to Stefano in the last years of his illness. Carlo went so far as to dedicate his book to him which made Stefano emotional. It's because of the joy he gave Stefano in that moment that I'll always care for Carlo" Considering the foundation's connection to Ancelotti, it's not surprising that there has been talk about a potential friendly between Sambenedettese and Bayern Munich. The two clubs' fan bases are working on it and the proceeds could benefit the foundation:"It would be great if there could a match in Munich to raise funds for the foundation. Certainly the fact that Ancelotti today coaches the German team is a huge coincidence. I know the fan bases have been in touch, it's certainly not an easy project to accomplish but nothing is impossible if strongly motivated. Should this match take place, I would sit in the stands with the fans to celebrate" Chantal talked about the history of the foundation:"It was started eight years ago because of the wish of a man who dedicated his life to football and who invited everyone to form a team to defeat this illness. Just like Stefano I'm convinced that the world of football will be a key factor to defeat this illness. Many players have been victims of this terrible disease so the sport has been involved. It's followed by two billion people in the world, it's clear that any message that they send gives a lot of exposure to a disease like ALS, millions of people can learn about it. And the knowledge brings the awareness of how awful this disease is and why it's important to support those researching a cure to defeat it once and for all. It's essential we unite and fight it together"
