It is no secret that there's no love lost between Atletico Madrid striker and his former coach at Chelsea Antonio Conte. The Spaniard stated his opinion on the matter in an interview with ESPN Brasil: " We had many problems off the pitch, but I still think he is a good manager. I have no hard feelings towards him. But to be a top, top manager, he needs to change the human side of his management. He is very suspicious.He wouldn't last a season in a club like Real Madrid."
The striker then revealed why he chose to play for Spain over Brasil: "After a friendly against Russia, Scolari said that he would call me up again because I hadn't had much playing time. But I think that it was only a way to get in my head. At the time therre were many players out injured, however he never selected me. I didn't say anything and then he didn't call me up for the Confederations Cup. Then I received the call from Spain and I couldn't say no. Suddenly, they started saying Scolari wanted me, but the truth is that he never selected me once".
