Cagliari's sporting director Marcello Carli spoke exclusively to GianlucaDiMarzio.com, where the topic of the club's promising young player Nicolò Barella is set to make news throughout the summer transfer window. The conversation with the director touched on the upcoming market and what the Carli has in store: "Our plans for the summer? We will try to bring in reinforcements and consolidate the team. There are 2-3 players who for varous reasons haven't shown the best of their potential. Klavan, Birsa, and Castro, we will get them going again, they will be like new additions for us. Birsa, even though he is playing now, was affected by his arm injury. Barella? Keeping him remains a dream, but I don't know if it is possible to achieve it, to be honest. There are two Italian teams who want him. We will see... last year we turned down many offers, like the one from Atletico Madrid in the summer. Right now I don't know if he will stay or not. We cannot be sure of keeping him, however in January we did not take it into consideration. Of course, if he leaves, we will have to replace him. Nicolò is a very serious minded person when it comes to Cagliari, so for him he must only think about finishing the season the best way possible."
