Carlo Osti, sporting director of Sampdoria spoke about the future of caoch Marco Giampaolo: "We have made every evaluation with him: his contract is expiring in 2020, but he is the coach for us." The director spoke at the inaugeration of a pitch dedicated to the memory of Samuele Robbiano, a child who passed away in the Morandi bridge disaster. "We said that we'd meet after the match with Chievo and that would be the time to discuss our plans and learn if we could continue on together. Osti talked about the discussions over the sale of the club: "A football club always keeps on going, our president is Massimo Ferrero and we hope to move ahead with him because over the last five years I have got along well with him. He is a great figure, as a footballer I remeber I would have to kick him to stop him: he has the toughness to become a great director, but these things that happen are beyond my comprehension."
