West Ham's right-back Pablo Zabaleta opened his home to Sky Sport and talked about his experience in the Premier League so far and a possible future in Italy: "I was close to Roma two season ago. They offered me a three-year deal and I thought that it could have been a great experience for me. But Guardiola arrived to Manchester that year and he said that he wanted me there. After many years at Manchester City I chose with my heart and I decided to stay there. Anyway I have always thought that I'd like to play in Italy".
The Argentinian also discussed about Champions League and some of his past and present teammates, both for the club and the national team: "The Champions League is a very important competition for Manchester City. They have won everything they could domestically, but the Champions League is that one trophy that every club wants to win. They have so much quality and amazing players, so they have a chance to win it. Dzeko? I played with him for three or four seasons, he is a great player and I am very happy for his hat-trick. Dybala? He must not be considered as the next Messi, he doesn't need that kind of pressure on him. He is a great player but he still young, he is part of the next generation of Argentinian football".
Speaking of Messi, Zabaleta said he never tried to persuade Messi to join him at City: "No, that wouldn't have been possible. Leo is very happy at Barcelona, that is arguably the best team in the world. I never tried to convince him to join City".
