West Ham full-back and Premier League veteran Pablo Zabaleta revealed that he was pondering a change of scenario for possibly the final season of his career before the outbreak of the Covid emergency.
The Argentinian defender discussed his plans and possibilities for the future in an interview with La Nacion: "Everyday I thnk about what would happen if the Premier League was not to start again. I always wake up thinking if this is how life will be after retirement. I had already decided to keep playing one more year after the end of the current season, maybe go to Italy. However it is very likely that matches will be played behind closed door for a while, so what could possibly be my motivation? What would be the point of going to Italy if wonderful stadiums like the Olimpico or San Siro were empty? We will see how things will go, however retirement is a concrete possibility".
Zabaleta was then asked about his time at Manchester City and his relationship with the at-the-time manager Roberto Mancini: "He is a very passionate coach. He never wants to lose and if you did something wrong in a game he could kill you in the dressing room. He and Balotelli were argiung all the time".
