On the 20th anniversary of Lazio's last scudetto title, current coach Simone Inzaghi and former player on that team gave his thoughts. During the coronavirus pandemic the season has paused, along with Lazio's current title hopes. Inzaghi described the win in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, describing how the title was sealed when Juventus lost in the rain in Perugia: "It was even more great to win that way. We were in the locker room waiting for the result from Perugia, and the fans had stayed in the stands. In March were nine points back of Juve and it was crazy to consider a comeback. We started to climb and won away to them, and we started to believe in ourselves. That May 14 in Roma there was anticipation and hope, but also the fear of another humiliation. I took the penalty and we went ahead, we beat Reggina and Perugia did the rest. It was incredible, Lazio had win their only scudetto in 24 years. A day none of us will forget. We were a great team, full of champions and smart players. Eriksson was so good at guiding the team. For me winning another scudetto as coach would be wonderful, it would give me satisfaction for the work I started four years ago."
