After being a Barcelona icon for many years, midfield maestro Xavi decided to spend his last years of his career as a footballer in the Qatari league, but it seems that his time on the pitch is about to come to an end. "This will almost certainly be my last season as a player, I already think as a coach. I don't know what the future holds for me, but coaching Barcelona would be the dream", said the Spaniard to Corriere dello Sport.
"Guardiola is a great coach, I admire him very much and he had a huge influence on my idea of football. My philosophy is very similar to his, I want to have controlo of the ball. I have also studied Sarri, his Chelsea is amazing now. I respected also Ancelotti and Conte". The former Barcelona finally commented the upcoming game of his ex-club against Inter and his memories about the semifinal in 2010: "I remember that semifinal very well. It was a shame to be eliminated after having dominated the whole game, but that's football. On Wednesday Barcelona will take control of the game, while Inter will defend and counter. I see the Blaugrana as favourite, despite not having Messi, the best footballer in the world".
