West Ham, Maresca the favorite to replace Pellegrini: the situation

Following a strong start to the season, West Ham have been struggling significantly with seven losses in their last ten matches. The Hammers have decided to make a coaching change should they lose the upcoming match against Southampton. Should Manuel Pellegrini be sacked, his top assistant Enzo Maresca is amongst the favorites. 

West Ham players are pushing for an internal solution with Maresca getting a promotion to the top job, the Hammers have a long tradition with Italians dating back to Paolo Di Canio as well as Diamanti, Borriello and more recently Ogbonna.
