Fiorentina, Ribery will undergo surgery: the details

Fiorentina earlier revealed an ankle injury to Franck Ribery, and were unable to rule out something more serious for the injury. On Thursday, Ribery underwent tests by a specialist becuase of persistant pain during training, the club announced in a statement. The decision will be made for Ribery to undergo a joint stabilization procedure, which will be done in the coming hours. The surgical intervention was necessary to accelerate Ribery's recovery path, a recovery which Fiorentina desparately needs.
