After pushing to get Scamacca from Sassuolo, Hellas Verona have decided to change their main target to Giovanni Simeone.
The Gialloblu feel confident that they can land a deal for the Argentinian, who only played five minutes in Cagliari's season opener against Spezia. Verona have shifted their focus on Simeone and could complete the deal shortly, with the player already persuaded to accept a move to the Bentegodi.
Should the Simeone deal be completed, Cagliari would need a new striker that could provide backup to Joao Pedro and Pavoletti.
The Rossoblu have eyed Scamacca as potential replacement and, while the Sassuolo striker has many other suitors, his desire to get consistent game time ahead of the World Cup in 2022 could be a key factor in his decision.
