A recent family tragedy has put things in perspective for Lucas Torreira. The former Sampdoria midfldelder's mother passed away at the age of 53 because of COVID, which caused him to re evaluate his priorities:"When my mother died, I told my agent that I wanted to join Boca, I no longer want to play in Europe- Torreira told ESPN- Nobody gifted me anything, I'm happy with what I have, money makes you happy but not for long. I want to be close to my family, they need me"
Torreira went on:"I'm dying to play for Boca, I will push to go there. My father while crying told me it was the right time. I always liked Boca, I don't know the Bombinera, but it's something I want and I hope it happens"
