This June, Benfica will be set to see a goalkeeper on an expiring contract leave the club.
Mile Svilar, the 22-year-old Benfica goalkeeper whom José Mourinho and Tiago Pinto, Roma's general manager are fond of, will decide as soon as this week whether to make Italy's capital his next destination. Roma have taken the step of approaching Benfica with enticements to make a deal, such as a percentage of a future relsale. But there competition coming from Real Sociedad for the player.
The Spanish club are pushing and could allow for the possibility for the goalkeeper to start receiving starting appearances immediately, something that would be less likely for him at Roma.
There are two teams battling for his signature after Svilar decided not to extend his contract with Benfica, the move will come for the goalkeeper in June.
