SPAL, from Gabriel to Paloschi, update on Serie A's new boys

Newly promoted SPAL have been very active in the pursuit of transfer targets so far this summer. One player who is very close to signing with the club is Gabriel, property of AC Milan who played with Cagliari last season. Gabriel would be the first goalie purchased on loan as Meret is expected to stay with Udinese, who owns him, after an outstanding season in Serie B. SPAL are also on the lookout for outfield players. They have spoken with Milan about Vangioni and Ely, Mattiello is about to arrive in midfield from Juventus. Rizzo and Oikonomou are also targets as is Alberto Paloschi. The former Milan, Parma, and Atalanta forward would be the perfect focal point for the side's attack. Spal is ambitious and is keeping their expectations high.
