After the second consecutive salvation for SPAL, their manager Leonardo Semplici received an award from the Gran Galà del Calcio Premio Adiscop to recognize his achievements with the Ferrara-based club. He spoke about his future after it was rumoured that Genoa is interested in him as a replacement for Cesare Prandelli: "I have a contract with SPAL and I owe a lot to the club and their directors. We went through four extraordinary years, but in this field of work, it is normal to be ambitious. I don't know if it will be next year or in the future, but I would like to take a small step forward. Genoa? I have a contract with SPAL and I will calmly discuss with the club at the end of the season like I have always done in these past years."
After Semplici, SPAL Sporting Director Vagnati commented on the situation: "Semplici? We will meet and I think he is happy to continue working with us. It is clear that the conditions have to be right to continue and it will be important for us if he does continue with us."
