Serie A teams are set to return to the pitch after a a two-weeks absence due to the international break in a round of games that will be particularly emotional for Sassuolo. The Neroverdi will in fact play their first game since their president and owner Giorgio Squinzi passed away. CEO Andrea Carnevali discussed the feelings of the club heading into the game against Inter in an interview with Corriere dello Sport: "It will be a tough game under many aspects. It will be a strange day, but we have to control our feelings and focus exclusively on what is happening on the pitch. Squinzi was an extraordinary man, he wasn't just an employer, he was like a second father."
Carnevali then revealed a backstory about the transfer of Stefano Sensi to Inter last summer: "When I went to Barcelona to negotiate a deal for Marlon, one of the Blaugrana directors asked me about Sensi. The knew him and followed him, but Inter moved quicker. We closed the deal on a Friday, after a brief meeting that we had at Inter's headquarters at the presence of Conte. The following Friday I would have met an important foreign club to discuss a deal with them, so Inter did well as the were determined to close the deal for Sensi".
Finally, the CEO discussed the situation of another former Neroverde, Massimiliano Allegri: "He is amazing. He will return to coaching soon, possibly abroad".
