Seven goals in 11 games at 34 years old. "I want to do like Buffon though, play as long as I feel good physically. That brings us, at least, until 38...": Fabio Quagliarella's words to La Gazetta dello Sport. The Samp striker, former Napoli and Juve player, enjoys the scudetto fight: "I got in bianconero looked as a traitor by the people so I didn't really enjoy my time there, as much as I could. These years are a synthesis of my career: I've had so much, I could have had a lot more. Without my cruciate injury, I may have had 6 more months like my first ones and it could have been a turning point. I've done well even if not playing as a starter. I can't forget the Stadium fans' applause when I went to play with the Toro or the exclusion from the Europa League list: in January, two days before the end of the transfer window I told myself I wouldn't move. Conte then told me "You're now the last of our strikers". I didn't deserve that".

The present is now blucerchiato. About the president Ferrero: "He's the first president I have such a non formal relationship, we make joke contests. He told me to trust him and come here, since it wasn't today's Sampdoria but I believe in the courage to make some decisions. I'm here because the president really wanted me".

About the Nazionale, where a comparison can be made between the Sweden games' Insigne who everybody wanted to see on the pitch, and Lippi's 2010 team where Quagliarella didn't play enough: "It feels bitter: we only needed to do a little better during the second time of the Slovakia game. I can only thank Lippi though, even if we got out of the WC. He made me understand he had regrets".
