Salihamidzic announces Upamecano to transfer to Bayern in the summer

Dayot Upamecano will move to Bayern Munich from Leipzig, as confirmation arrives that the French center back will sign a 5-year deal with the Bundesliga champions. The deal with the 22-year-old is set to close, confirmed Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic to newspaper Bild: "We have had positive, deep, and professional talks with Dayot and his agent Volker Struth over many months. We knew that there would be a lot of competition. Upamecano is a young player already with highly developed talents. We showed him our vision of his career at FC Bayern, at the end of a long process the player, his family, and the directors were convinced that Bayern would be the right destination. Upamecano will play for FC Bayern for the next five years."
