Roma, trust in Massara as sporting director, with Monchi gathering interest: The situation

Sabatini is now part of the past for Roma. The club wants and has to look to the future, with the transfer market being placed at the centre of everything. Players are key in the market, but so are sporting directors, especially after all the rumours surrounding Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, also known as Monchi. For now, the present for Roma revolves around Massara, but the contacts between the club and Sevilla’s current sporting director have happened. The Spaniard is appreciated by the ‘giallorossi’ after being suggested by Franco Baldini. Nonetheless, there is nothing but trust for Massara.

For now, the only thing that is certain between Roma and Monchi is the meeting between Baldini and the Spaniard in London. The two watched Arsenal-PSG together last 23rd of November. Monchi clearly follows the French side given Emery’s presence on the bench (Ex Sevilla coach) and for his own future as a sporting director. However the two supposed dinner meetings have never happened. Why? Simply put, Alex Zecca (Trusted figure at Roma), has not been in London in the past few months and president Pallotta had already returned to Boston the day of the supposed dinner with Sevilla’s sporting director. For now Roma’s position is clear: Trust in Massara for the January transfer session, but also for the future. But as desired by Franco Baldini, a slight interest for Monchi remains.
