At the end of a summer that saw him involved in numerous transfer rumors, Edin Dzeko signed a three year extension with Roma. The Bosnian striker described what he went through during this period in an interview with La Stampa:"The transfer window is too long and this summer it impacted me. It seemed I would go elsewhere, but during the first day of the retreat, I spoke to Fonseca and I told him that I felt like a Roma player. I'm happier and more motivated"
Dzeko described their current season:"Fonseca is sincere and direct, he makes everyone feel important. The captain's armband is a big burden, but I'm ready. Zaniolo? The first training session he was incredible. He's a great talent who must be grateful to Roma".
