Roma will take on CSKA in the Champions League, a chance for coach Eusebio Di Francesco to see improvement from his team after a draw on the domestic front against Fiorentina. The giallorossi will look to follow up on their 3-0 win against CSKA at the Olimpico, they will play the return fixture in Russia, and try to find success with the formation. Di Francesco spoke about the team's preparations in his pre-match press conference:
"Straight away, regarding playing Florenzi in an advanced role, that doesn't make a difference in being aggressive or not. It is relative, which was demonstrated against Lazio. In either role it shouldn't change our mentality, we need to impact the match and understand the situations in the game. Our identity must remain to take the game to our opponents. We need to continue to get better, both in the league and in the Champions League. We are seeing growth, even if we don't have consistency yet. Great teams can also win in the last minute, which is a reflection of their mentality. In our midfield, with the rotation, we have had difficulty bringing players close to Edin, we end up too flat. We have changed things up, like with Pellegrini in Florence, who was looking to create triangles in the offense. Edin has more of a chance to change his tactic, and he likes that, we will try to help him score not just in the Champions League but also in the league. I will make adjustments during the game based on our needs."
