A strong choice, but one that could make the square of Roma burn ever greater. The choice of Sinisa Mihajlovic as the new manager of Roma is taking shape in the minds of the giallorossi decision makers. It's a strong temptation in which the past would be broken, but the Serbian coach would take it on with great enthusiasm and no fear.
His past with Lazio is no secret, Mihajlovic knows it and so does the entire Roma club, but through their search for a new manager, Miha's profile is considered the one with the best characteristics to manage Roma. Especially in this historic moment. A job to bring forward new ideas has begun, married to and supported by the new Sporting Director Gianluca Petrachi.
There is a strong character factor that cannot be ignored when considering Mihajlovic. Roma is his home and he's lived there for 20 years, knowing perfectly well the reality in which he'd be entering -- with all the pros and cons -- given his past with Lazio. It could be a path of insertion, appreciation slowly won, that Mihajlovic and Petrachi could do together by supporting one another. Also, the Serbian coach would bring an offensive style of play, such as an aggressive 4-3-3 seen and appreciated at Torino and used during his dream "semester" with Bologna.
For now, Mihajlovic has a spot in Petrachi and management's thoughts for leading Roma next season. Other options still exist, such as Giampaolo and De Zerbi, but Sinisa remains a strong temptation that will be thoroughly evaluated, all while considering the impact it can have on the city.
