Roma are hosting Cagliari on Sunday before the international break. Manager Paulo Fonseca addressed his squad's status during the pre match press conference:"I'm expecting another tough game, against a side that has started the season really well. We are going through an intensive spell, with little time to recover between games, but the players are coping pretty well physically"
Fonseca discussed some of his individual players:"Pau Lopez will start tomorrow. Unfortunately Alessandro Florenzi has still not recovered, and has been at home with the flu and did not train this morning. It's not easy for Pastore to play two games in quick succession. Cristante has played as the number ten before, but neither him nor Veretout have the exact characteristics for the role"
Fonseca was asked about the recent injuries:"Without going too much into it, I can see the club is doing everything it can to avoid injuries. But there are always going to be freak accidents that are impossible to prevent. It's not just Roma players getting injured, every club that plays as many games as we do has similar issues".
