Gianluigi Buffon is playing football at 40 years old and has begun his new season away from Italy and in France. The new PSG goalie spoke to France Football about the beginning to his life in Paris: "After 40 years in Italy, it is never easy to change your life. I had no idea how the other players would welcome me, I was a bit worried about this. Sometimes we look to build a comfort zone and, out of fear or laziness, we refuse to leave because change is always scary. Yet, I am the exact opposite. I like to play, I am a lust for competition, I like to progress, I like to face difficulties and try to overcome them."
"I am better than than I was at 35, it seems impossible but I feel that I am better than five or six years ago. Maybe this is possible because I have changed the methods of how I work, but I believe that at my age it is a question of motivation," Buffon continued.
At PSG he has had competition from two goalies that have been at the club already, Areola and Trapp, and the Italian legend had this to say about them: "I find them well, I have a great rapport with them. In a group it is important to have respect and appreciation for one another. PSG plays around 60 matches each season, it is logical to have three important goalkeepers and not only one starter," Buffon concluded.
