The unexpected resignation of Zinedine Zidane as the Real Madrid coach has placed Mauricio Pochettino as one of the goals to replace the Frenchman on the bench of the Blancos.
Pochettino has just finished his fourth season on the bench of Tottenham, and whether or not the fifth will start, cannot be said with certainty yet: the doubts have increased after Zidane's choice of stepping off of one of the most prestigious benches in the world.
For someone who as a player, and coach has spent important years with Espanyol in Spain, and for someone who has a certain rivalry with Barcelona, there is certain desire to coach the current European champions one day.
"What must be, will be" - Five simple words that can say everything. Pochettino gave them to AS from Barcelona, during the presentation of "A new world, Intimate Diary of Pochettino in London", his autobiographical book: "I live in the present, there is nothing more important than this ... Jorge Griffa (former Argentine footballer) once he told me that I must let myself be carried away by football, without imposing something to change my destiny".
Clear ideas, therefore - but his future? A little less clear.
What is certain is his contract with Tottenham, which he renewed only a few days ago until 2023: "Is there is a clause that frees me if Real tries to get me? Not completely. In conclusion, in the case Florentino Perez, he should deal with Spurs."
