Michel Platini, the former UEFA president and longtime VAR-opposer, has been quoted in L'Equipe with new comments on the video replay system. "VAR? It's video that's impossible to conclude on. You take a moment that lasts a millisecond and stretch it out to 15 seconds. Take the World Cup final, was there a handball on Croatia? At normal speed, and with even a normal replay, definitely no. But with the super slow motion the referee sees something and awards the penalty. Where is the justice? It is simply an interpretation." Also on the topic of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, Platini remarked: "I found it odd that at 33 years old he would leave 'his' Real Madrid, which has won three Champions League, to start a new challenge. But was it Juventus who went after him, or his agent Mendes who pursued Juventus? I am not able to fully understand this deal."
