Palermo is set to change hands in a deal that has been closed with York Capital. The club will change ownership to the American firm who had been looking to find an Italian club to purchase: first Palermo, then Sampdoria came on the radar, before finally completing the deal. It was a long negotiation, that brought in both the current ownership as well as the prior group. The interest in the Sicialian club includes a plan to invest in the squad, as well as the construction of a sporting center and a new stadium.
York Capital completed the deal quietly, and bewteen Monday and Tuesday, at the latest Wednesday, the signature is expected on the preliminary agreement. The ownership group has experience in the sports ownership field with the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks in their portfolio. And the group are set to remain invested in Italy, not just in sport, but also in the relauching of Milan's Porta Vittoria: Palermo is set to go to new ownership, with great hope for the future of the club.
