After Palermo was eliminated to Spezia in the Coppa Italia, Roberto De Zerbi was officially sacked as the coach. In his place Eugenio Corini has been announced. Here is the statement from Palermo: "Evaluating the situation in the first team, the club feels that a change in the technical leadership is necessary, and is implementing Eugenio Corini." A new contract until June has been issued with an automatic renewal option if the club remains in the top flight.
