On Friday morning Marseille are set to submit a new offer to Fiorentina for the return of Pol Lirola. The Spanish fullback could head back to Ligue 1, where he played at l'OM on loan from la viola from January to May 2021.
Now the French club are looking to purchase him outright. Fiorentina are asking for €13 million and in the last round of negotiations Marseille arrived at €12 million.
Friday could see the final negotiations completed on transfer fees, then there will be the issue of solidarity payments, which correspond to 5%, due to the club that raised the player. Fiorentina are also expecting to pay this fee.
Lirola arrived from Sassuolo for €11 million in September 2020, playing two years and 52 matches at Fiorentina, scoring one single goal.
Despite interest domestically from Atalanta, Pol Lirola is closer to a move to Marseille, where on loan he helped the team reach fifth place, appearing in 19 and scoring twice in the league. His departure from Italy would come after seven years where he wore the shirts of Juventus, Sassuolo and Fiorentina.
