Juventus continues to work towards its main objective: Manuel Locatelli.
Today, another meeting took place between the bianconeri directors and Sassuolo. Juve has made its first offer for the player, but they have received a negative response from the other party, more for the offer than for the formula.
The bianconeri offer did not exceed 30 million euros, between a loan and obligation to purchase, meanwhile Sassuolo is requesting 40 million, the amount offered by Arsenal. Juventus has tried to close the gap by offering certain bonuses that depend on the teams' performance, the performance of the player and appearances for Locatelli with Juventus and the national team.
Despite these bonuses, the offer does not reach the 40 million that is being requested, who intends to receive this amount in order to sell the midfielder.
The meeting, therefore, was not fruitful, and will see the parties make new contacts in the coming days. Everything is currently in the hands of Juventus to decide whether or not they will try and reach the figure desired by the Emiliano based club.
Next week, after the meeting concludes, we will be able to understand whether or not this is part of the bianconeri strategy to try and accelerate the closing of a deal.
Juve is trying to acquire Locatelli with a same formula they used for Chiesa. A loan for one or two seasons, with an obligation to purchase after certain requirements are met.
Sassuolo is not convinced of this formula and at this time the first offer was refused. The neroverde expect another attempt by Juventus with higher figures and an obligation to purchase that does not depend on any conditions that will risk it from becoming concrete.
