In their attempt to keep pace with Juventus, Napoli prepare to host SPAL at the stadio San Paolo and coach Carlo Ancelotti discussed the possible line-up in the pre-match press conference: "I've go a full squad for tomorrow's game, apart from Allan who won't play due to a slight back problem, he will try to recover for the Inter game, he could make it. Verdi is fit and could play, also Rog could start tomorrow. My line-up choices won't be influenced by the caution on some players like Koulibaly and Insigne. If you don't play a cautioned player then it's like have him banned for two matches when he eventually gets a yellow card".
Ancelotti also voiced his opinion on the new Serie A schedule introduced this season, with teams playing during the festivities: "We will try and mix the festive time with hard work. The players will spend Christmas with their families but I am in favour on playing during the festivities. In the UK the stadium are always crowded with families during this time".
Finally, the coach was asked about the January transfer window: "In all honesty I can say that we won't make any moves in January. I am satisfied with my team and unless someone chains himself up to the doors of our training centre asking to leave, we will stay with the players we have"
