New coach, new club. Milan chose Vincenzo Montella to be their new head coach. Milan did not have to pay Sampdoria anything to liberate him. By accepting the hire of the former Sampdoria coach, Silvio Berlusconi has officially agreed to sign the preliminary agreement that will occur on July 7th- an agreement that comes with significant penalties if Milan's president backs out.
The final closing of the deal is scheduled to happen on September 30th. In the meantime, Nikolas Gancikoff will be in constant contact with Adriano Galliani for the transfer market decisions. The biggest news in all of this is the fact that for the first time in 30 years, Silvio Berlusconi did not choose Milan's coach.
